Axon helps China Broadcast its first National Youth Games in High Definition

Axon Digital Design’s modular broadcast infrastructure played a key role in ensuring that China’s first National Youth Games was successfully transmitted in full High Definition to television audiences throughout the country. Held in the Haixia Olympic Sports Center in the south China city of Fuzhou, the Games involved nearly 8,000 athletes who competed in 305 events across 26 sports, including martial arts. It was the biggest multi-sport games ever held in Fuzhou and was officially opened by China’s Vice-Premier Liu Yandong.

     
     
 
Sony FS7 firmware 4.0 now available for download

A couple of months after it was announced, Sony have today made their latest version 4.0 firmware for the PXW-FS7 available for download. The biggest improvement for many users will be the rapid access to slow motion settings and support for XAVC-I at true 24 fps in 4K.

ATEME announced that Turner Esporte Interativo a leading sport channel in Brazil, has deployed its Kyrion encoders and decoders to feed a new national video headend in São Paulo. Sony sells Vegas Pro, bulk of Creative Software Suite to MAGIX

MAGIX Software, a German software and app provider, is acquiring a majority of the Sony Creative Software (SCS) products, including the full Vegas Pro, Movie Studio, Sound Forge Pro, and ACID Pro product lines. Calrec’s in pole position at Le Mans with AMP VISUAL TV

Outside broadcasting giant AMP VISUAL TV has chosen the company’s Apollo, Artemis, and Artemis Light audio consoles for its landmark new vehicle. The new truck, the Millenium Signature 12 (MS12), will be the standard-bearer in the AMP VISUAL TV fleet and will make its debut for coverage of the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance automobile race in June.

Panasonic integrates PTZ cameras with NewTek NDI

Panasonic’s AW-HE130 and AW-HE40 series PTZ cameras now have the ability to stream H.264 video over IP to NDI-compatible systems thanks to a recent integration of NewTek’s Network Device Interface technology. When configured as production inputs using NewTek Connect Pro software, the Panasonic cameras become recognizable on the LAN as NDI video sources.
