Action Filmz invests in Fujinon Premista lenses

Dubai-based cine and production equipment rental company Action Filmz invested in the MENA regions first Fujinon Premista large-format zoom lens. The Fujinon Premista 28-100 T2.9 has been rented out on well over 30 productions over the past 10 months. This initial investment has now been expanded to include the Fujinon Premista 80-250 T2.9-3.5.

MPEG completes VVC Ultra HD verification test

As part of its 132nd meeting, MPEG has announced it has completed a verification test assessment of the new Versatile Video Coding (VVC) standard for ultra-high definition (UHD) content with standard dynamic range. According to the organisation, showed that VVC provides a compelling gain over its predecessor, the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard produced in 2013. The test found that VVC made bitrate savings of roughly 45 per cent compared to HEVC for comparable subjective video quality.

Sony unveiled FE C 16-35mm T3.1 G Cinema Lens

Along with announcing the FX6, Sony has also officially unveiled the Sony FE C 16-35mm T3.1 G Cinema Lens which they have been teasing for quite some time. We first saw this lens being announced as a development product way back in September 2019. This is the first of three new Cinema Lenses that Sony will be making, however, the focal ranges and details of the other two lenses are unknown at this stage.

Sony FX6 Released Full Frame, 4K 120 fps, Dual Native ISO

After announcing the Sony FX6 in September already, Sony just released the full details, specs and pricing of its new small Cinema Line camera. Be sure to check out our hands-on review too. The FX6 is a dual native ISO camera which is likely using the a7S III sensor, it can shoot up to 120 fps in 4K and 240 fps in HD (both full sensor readout), built-in electronic variable ND, S-Cinetone & S-log 3 and much more. Panasonic releases the AK-UC3300, its latest 4K studio camera

Panasonic Corporation has announced the release of the AK-UC3300GJ/UC3300GSJ 4K Studio Camera, a camera that supports a range of applications ranging from studio production to coverage of live events, and the AK-HRP1015GJ Remote Operation Panel (ROP), which can be used to operate the camera, in November 2020.

Sony FX6 to be announced on the 17th November

The much anticipated Sony FX6 will be officially announced on Tuesday the 17th of November. We dont have any official details about the specifications or features of the new FX6. It will be interesting to see just how it compares to not only the FX9 and a7SIII, but also against other competing cameras such as the Canon C70.

MPEG-5 LCEVC Standard Achieves MPEG/ISO Final Draft Status

V-Nova has announced completion of the MPEG-5 Part 2 Low Complexity Enhancement Video Coding (LCEVC) standard, which enhances the compression efficiency of any future or existing video compression scheme, including AVC, HEVC, AV1, EVC and VVC.

CTV invests in PHABRIX Qx and Sx for new ST2110 OB truck and IP workflows for The European Golf Tour

CTV, a leading provider of OB trucks and facilities, selected PHABRIXs Qx advanced rasterizer to provide future-proofed test and measurement for IP-based workflows, including the companys brand new OB12 32 camera truck which is currently being used on The European Golf Tour. CTV also invested in a Sx TAG handheld hybrid IP/SDI unit with ST2110 and ST2022 10GbE options for use with flypack systems.

Mobile TV Group 47 FLEX OB truck powered by Calrec

Mobile TV Group is launching its third FLEX mobile unit, which like its predecessors is fully equipped with Calrec technology for its audio setup. The 47 FLEX unit is stocked with Calrecs Artemis digital audio console, with audio-over-IP capabilities via Calrecs H2-IP Gateway system. The truck also features MTVGs Cloud Control capability.
